Don't drink the water in Madison, MS. There are, at any given time, at least four pregnant woman at my church. Currently there are six, and the one that is due next is having twins! So I decided to make a diaper cake for her shower which is this Saturday. I'm not sure if I like the green thingies coming out of the flowers - what are your thoughts and opinions? I still have time to make changes. Oh, the twins are a boy and a girl.

#1 - Love the cake. Especially the color scheme! And I think the green things are OK. The only thing I might suggest is maybe the fluffy green parts. But I don't have much of a suggestion on how to improve it, because it definitely needs the green to balance the pink. Does that stuff come in a darker green? I think it looks great, though. Even if you do leave the fluffy green stuff. I adore the ribbon.
#2 - when I come visit, I am so not drinking the water.
The picture is misleading in that the green things on top are almost the same color as the fluffy green things. Also, i will be more careful placing them when I take the cake over to the party, so that they are not spread too far out on the bottom layer.
Mary Shea, That cake is magnificent! I love it. Are there diapers in the middle or are they formed around something? Getting a cake like that is "almost" worth getting pregant. I am going to remember a diaper cake next time I have to go to a baby shower, which is not very often. Love Mom
That looks fabulous, Mary! Wow! I really don't think the green things coming out of the flowers are bad, necessarily, but maybe not even needed with the green that is around each layer of diapers. Could you possibly add a little blue somewhere, maybe in lieu of the green thingies, to accentuate that the twins are a boy and a girl? It's awesome, no matter what. She will love it (and saving some money on diapers)!
Knowing that the fluffy green bits match the flower green bits (which I have no objection to) makes me happier about them. My objection to them was that it seemed to draw the focus away from the pretty flowers and kickass ribbon, but I think if the green matches the way you describe, they're good. Have I mentioned that I love that ribbon?
