Baby Boy's Nursery Fabric

I found the cutest fabric at our local quilt shop, Cabbage Rose... and it has a squirrel!!!  After about 2 plus hours in the store, I managed to pull together the squirrel fabric with a few teal and orange fabrics.   For some reason teal and orange was calling out to me.  Is orange the new pink?  Well it is for this baby boy.

I have had the fabric for a little while now, but decided to order three of the prints by the bolt (yes, I'm crazy)  but it should have some resale value in my shop, besides, if we learned anything from Target this fall it is that chevrons are in.

Have no clue what I'm talking about - check out this article from the Chicago tribune about Missoni for Target.  The six week promotion sold out in 1 day in stores and online. Since then, I've seen chevrons everywhere.

...time lapse...UPS arrives with my fabric, and no chevrons.  :(   They are on back order and will be here in May.  I guess they ARE very popular!

So here are the pictures of the chevrons from their website:

And here is the squirrel.

And all the fabrics.  Try and imagine the chevrons here too, pulling in more of the aqua blue and orange.   The dominate colors are aqua, orange and white, with little accents of yellow and red.

Now I just have to decide what to make.   I'm thinking a few sheets, burp cloths, wall decor, and probably a quilt.  Any other suggestions?

Just because she is cute!  I found her in the toy basket, relaxing, watching the Muppet Show.

Texas Blue Bonnets

It is Blue Bonnet season in Texas.  The blooms came up a couple of weeks ago and we finally were able to take some pictures.  This seems to be a long standing tradition in Texas.  The highways are littered with clumps these flowers and for two weeks you see cars pulled over, kids in their Sunday best, and parents trying to take pictures.  Why not join in?

This is not my picture, but you get the point...(http://perpetualperfection.blogspot.com/2011/04/texas-bluebonnets.html)
There were lots of pictures and it was hard to choose just a couple, so here they are...(and believe me, this is trimmed down).

So I have so many pictures here that the Easter post has disappeared.  Click on "Older Posts"  just under this post to see the Easter pictures.   Check back on Monday or Tuesday for a sneak peak at the fabric for the new baby.
