4th of July

Fourth of July. Ok, so I'm only a week and a half behind, that's not so bad. We celebrated the fourth with neighbors across from Bryce and Carmen's house. The food was good and there was a big blow up waterslide, but the best part was the fireworks. Love Texas (you can buy the really big ones here). So just before 9pm, when it starts to get dark, we started the exploding extravaganza. Over two hours later we were finished. The coolest part is when you and your other neighbor set off kabooms at the same time. It is almost like being at a fireworks show. On Sunday we continued the celebration by watching 1776.

Happy Birthday Taryn! Did you get my text?

I did--thanks! Sorry I didn't get a chance to respond--things were crazy in Kansas last week ;-) Yay for W's second Fourth of July!

Yay for the water slide! I want one! And Wesley looks all ready to swim. Bring him back here so I can teach him!

He is ready to swim and has played in his baby pool for the past 5 days...it helps with the really bad butt rash he had.

He holds onto the side of the pool with his tummy down and I kick his legs. He loves it. He has also gone under a few times on accident and recovers on his own, gets freaked out for only a few seconds, pees, then he is fine and back to playing again.

And that, my dear, is why swim diapers are a great invention. Hopefully he'll outgrow the peeing part before he starts putting his face in regularly :-)

Love the swim diapers, but when you are 1 and at your own house with no one else in your pool and a diaper rash that makes you wonder how he sits down, going commando sounds like a good idea.
