One of Wesley's Christmas gifts was a potty chair, and tonight he had his first successful poo in the chair! Very exciting.

Happy Birthday Wesley!
Wesley celebrated his first birthday with his family. Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa N, Bryce, Carmen, Kaleb and Kylee and Great Grandma N were all present. Since Wesley's first real word was turtle we had a turtle themed cake. After dinner we opened presents and watched Wesley try and eat a cupcake. He did not dive in rather he just played with it and shared with the puppies on the floor. Wesley's favorite gifts were the stacking cups, the Little People Farm that makes farm animal nosies, and 2 books, Mr. Brown Says Moo and Which Dinosaur.

Cake time. I did make the mistake of not pushing the cake far enough away. Wesley got a fist full of the back of the cake before we lit it and sang Happy Birthday.

Walking
Wesley started walking two weeks ago. I apologise for not posting a video sooner. As you can see, he is pretty good at walking now and has figured out how to stand up without holding on to anything.

Brush 'em Brush 'em Brush 'em
Wesley had his two bottom front teeth push through in December. His two top ones are almost showing. Here is a cute video of Wesley having his teeth and gums brushed.

Push It
Wesley is pulling himself up and walking with furniture assistance. We got him a Tonka Truck push toy. He loves to walk it across the living room.

Wesley has been rocking back and forth on his hands and knees for a while, and for the past week he has been crawling. Today, he really started to move…Enjoy!

Yummy Yummy Yummy I’ve Got Rice in My Tummy
Wesley had his four month check up this week. He is charting between the 5th and 10th percentile (on the small side) weighing in at 11.14 pounds and almost 25 inches. He also received his next set of shots and didn’t cry for too long afterward. The doctor said that I could start rice cereal and then baby food. I was very excited at this news. Recently, Wesley has been showing great interest in real food and was looking at me like, “where’s mine!?!” whenever I was eating. Hopefully now he will sleep through the night again since for the past few weeks he has been waking up every four to five hours hungry.
After the move, we decided that today was the perfect day to see if Wesley likes eating rice cereal with a spoon! The doctor said that it may take a few tries before he gets the hang of eating with a spoon, but that was not case. He ate all of the cereal and didn’t spit too much of it back out.

Shake, Rattle, and Roll reprise
Yesterday Wesley rolled from his back to his tummy while trying to go down for a nap. I was not in the room, but luckily I saw the whole roll via the video monitor, a wonderful invention. I think it is fun to watch, so here is another video of him rolling over from his tummy to his back. Even though he has done this a number of times, you can still see the shock in his eyes after he finishes the roll.

Shake, Rattle, and Roll
Here’s another milestone for you. Three times today Wesley has rolled over from his tummy to his back. I was lucky enough to capture one of these rolls on video (but I implore you to turn down the volume so you don’t have to hear my bad English). Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, but three times is the real deal. We are very excited for Wesley and before we know it he will be rolling over both ways. The only problem with practicing the rolls is that he hates to be on his tummy, and seems to roll only when he is happy.
